Award Show Season: Which Ones Should You Pay Attention To
The sparkling Christmas lights you admired during the holidays are nothing compared to the glitz and glam that will overtake America for the next couple of months. Ladies and gentlemen, we’re happy to announce that the amazing award show season is finally here!
Being a movie and music enthusiast is only part of the treat, although it should be more than enough to make you pack your suitcase and see your favorite actors and musicians flesh and blood. But there’s something bigger to the occasion. We’re talking about the red carpet thrill, the most stylish décor and the best after parties in the world.
The season started with a memorable Golden Globes Award Show where the utterly charming “La La Land” broke the record for the most Globes ever won by a movie. If you’ve missed the Globes, don’t worry; there are other shows even more fabulous and glamorous than this one that you can attend.
So, without further ado, let’s look at every show’s specifics and understand why you should put them on your bucket list.
The Screen Actors Guild Awards – 29th of January 2017
The Shrine Center in Los Angeles traditionally hosts the biggest accolades for actors and television stars that are rewarded and celebrated by their peers. We’re talking, of course, about “The Screen Actors Guild Awards” also known as SAG. So, if you’re looking for the biggest celebrity concentration on a square foot in L.A., this is where you find it.
Although the youngest of the bunch, the SAG Awards are a good indicator of success at the Oscars. As of 2012, there are 165,000 members, partially selected anew every year that cast their vote for film and television.
The Grammys – 12th of February
This show is one of a kind because it’s all about live acts. So, forget about statuettes and credits, because if you are part of the Grammys, you’re there for la crème de la crème in stage performance and impromptu surprises.
This year, the Staples Center, a traditional home to the Grammy Awards, hosts the competition between favorites Beyoncé, Adele and Ariana Grande, whom we can’t wait to see on stage collecting their awards and singing. Here is a complete list of this year’s nominees and the people you might spot in the crowd if you attend the show.
While you’re there, don’t forget to visit The Grammy Museum across the street, a similar version of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, with bronze top winner’s disks embedded on the sidewalks.
The Academy Awards – 26th of February
If you love old-style Hollywood glamor, then you already have your eyes set on the Oscars. Los Angeles’ most golden night of the year (since 1929) coupled with the most stylish Vanity Fair Oscar party that takes place during and after the awards represent the epitome of what Hollywood stands for. Just by looking at 2017’s favorites it’s easy to understand that the show’s promise to excite and entertain grows bigger every year.
These are just some of the shows that promise to delight and entertain anyone who attends them. There are numerous others events, such as The BAFTA Awards and the Annie Awards that are just as spectacular.
If you’re planning to attend any of these shows and rub shoulders with A-listers, why not do it in style? With Mountain Aviation, you can book a private jet charter and enjoy a fabulous experience from beginning to end.
